Join the youth performers of New Mexico Young Actors for our condensed version of the musical classic, The Sound of Music! Austria, 1938. When the young postulant Maria is sent from her convent to serve as the governess to widower Captain Von Trapp’s seven children, she rapidly transforms their regimented days with the gifts of music and nature and fun. Soon, the Captain and Maria find themselves drawn to each other. Together, with the children, their love as a new blended family gives them courage to resist the encroaching Nazi regime. A perfect introduction to the classic story for children of all ages, our condensed version will transport you to a place and time where the gifts of music and love have the power to change history.
